Prairie Grove First United Methodist Church would like to introduce you to our new pastor, Carl Palmer. Pastor Carl will be starting with us on January 1, 2021.
Pastor Carl has a Master’s of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and has been a pastor in the Methodist church since 1995. He is currently the Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church of Harrison, where he has been since 2018.
A graduate from The Ohio State University in Communications with an emphasis in Classical Greek Rhetoric, Pastor Carl is a native of Ohio, but got to Arkansas as quickly as he could. His great passions in ministry are recruiting, equipping, and deploying the next generation of Christian Leaders. One of the specific ways he loves to do this is working with the hurting and habit-driven through Celebrate Recovery.
When asked about getting appointed to PGFUMC, Pastor Carl said “I am excited about working with the church to create vitality and to make disciples of Jesus Christ by: engaging in the many ways the Prairie Grove community reaches out in care and concern through feeding the community, engaging in discipleship, and worshiping God. I feel that my passion can be summed up in this sentence: Recruiting, equipping, and deploying the next generation of Christian leaders, and that aligns well with the Prairie Grove church’s mission to connect, equip, and send. I am excited to be a part of PGFUMC!”
Pastor Carl and his wife, Denni, have 5 children (Gretchen, Kristen, Katrina, Teasha, and Jason) aged 13 to 20 and 4 foster children (Chance, Brennan, Annie, and Michael) aged 13 to 18.
Members of the congregation are encouraged to reach out and introduce yourself via email to carl.palmer@arumc.org.
