COVID Update – July 2021

On May 16, 2021, the PGFUMC Church Council voted to align our masking policy with the CDC recommended guidelines. On July 27, 2021, the CDC updated their guidance to recommend that even fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission. Therefore, PGFUMC is now requiring masks for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, until the CDC guidelines change.

Currently, Washington County is in a status of “High” community transmission. This appears to be primarily due to the more easily transmissible Delta Variant of COVID and low vaccination rates among the surrounding communities outside of Fayetteville. You can see the status by county on the CDC website, here.

You can also view the COVID Dashboard on the ARUMC website, here, for additional information our church council is using to make decisions.

As of the writing of this post, we are still planning to meet in person and are not limiting attendance in worship. The only change at this time is to require masking for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status. We still have a wonderful online experience for those that would feel more comfortable worshiping live on our Facebook page.
